Visual Analytics combines automatic data analysis methods and interactive visualizations typically for very large and complex data sets. It considers the human user as an essential part of an iterative and progressive analysis process. As such, the user’s role goes beyond being only the recipient of what the machine displays.

The research group “Visual Analytics” has its particular focus on intelligent user interfaces, fostering a close collaboration between human and machine.
